Getting the scan done!

We have been down to the LOC clinic in Ross on Wye today to get Ben scanned for his helmet.  His plagiocephaly is measured at 32mm which is severe so its good that we have caught it so young and he is at the best age (5 months) to get started! Ben had to wear a stocking over his head and a transmitter was attached to the top (I think he looked like a teletubbie!) and then Rachel scanned every side of his head.  Ben was none too pleased about the situation and screamed very loudly but after being bribed with milk he sat still enough so that Rachel could get the scans she needed.  In the end he was quite interested in seeing the 3D image of his head appear on the screen! We chose a very cool blue fish design for the helmet which I think will look very smart!  Back down to Ross in 2 weeks time for the helmet fitting!

  1. I'd never even noticed the shape of Bens head before Kate, all i saw was his lovely cute smile but it will be interesting to see how it changes! Its such a good idea to do this blog, both for Ben and for others to keep up to date with his progress.
Looking forward to checking Ben out in his cool helmet!

  2. Thanks Katy, we only see his smile too! It's not very noticeable on photos but if you look at him from above or behind can really see it then. Can't wait for him to get it, he is going to look very smart and at some point I might have to get a shark fin to attach to it to go with the fish design!! Xx
